Welcome to the Mark Watson 24 Hour Show
Welcome to the 24 Hour Show
We're currently in Edinburgh attempting to accomplish a range of increasingly audacious and baffling tasks, and we need YOUR help!
If you wish to do so, click the "sign in" link on the top right, and register an account. Once you've done that you'll see a link up there that says "Connect to Twitter". Clicking this will enable watson24hour.com to "cross-post" your task submissions to twitter so your followers can get involved. Wow!
You can help out by clicking the "Perform Tasks" link to your left. If you want to leave messages of support or just let us know what you're doing, you can write a diary entry.
You can also follow most of the action at our twitter feed.
Highlights include:
- We are attempting to move the entire world to a new reference time known as "New Scottish Time". See the tasks page for more details.
- We seek the attendance of Ronnie Corbett, amongst other celebrities.
- We've got a huge collection of small hand photos in the race for the smallest adult hands on the world.
In the meantime, sign up using the links above, or follow us on twitter.

For List all the things Mark Watson can't do By splitpea72 (Lou Milligan) at 23 Nov 2009 12:27 UTC Having seen his dismal attempts in the kitchen on Sunday, I'm afraid that I have to say cooking! Sorry, but it was still mightily entertaining!
For We need clever anagrams of "Stephen Grant" By ruthie (Ruth) at 26 Aug 2009 12:34 UTC Pen: Trash Gent!
For I think it's time for CONGRATULATIONS TO MARK! By badhairday (Hannah Eldridge) at 19 Aug 2009 04:49 UTC A bit delayed, however, congratulations to Mark and everyone involved in the 24 Hour Show! :D What I could read, view, stream and watch was wonderful! A lovely distraction to my immenant assessments and exams. Would have given anything to participate, however, geography once again let me down. I think everyone deserves an extra long rest after such an event! Congratulations once again!

By blau (Megan McLeod) at 18 Aug 2009 11:35 UTC Huzzah! Sounds like you guy are having an amazing, exhausting time. Congratulations! | Latest Diary EntriesWrite yours now →By: Sarah Margaret Posted: 18 Aug 2009 11:20 UTC Building the John So effigy at last years Melbourne Comedy Festival - there's a big moment, along with getting him to come! By: admin Posted: 18 Aug 2009 05:17 UTC The Watson 24 Hour Show tattoo. A terrible picture, but it was literally just finished. We'll have another one soon! By: Mishkapants Posted: 18 Aug 2009 01:34 UTC Mark, it's been a great diversion to keep up with the show today; if I wasn't already stretched by stress to within an inch of my sanity, I would stay awake through the night to keep occassionally contributing (but mostly playing bejeweled). As it is, I'm piking at midnight. I'm sorry. I feel I've let the team down, just like last year when I piked after 9 hours of being stationary in the Hi-Fi Bar in Melbourne. I say good luck to everyone who attends (or stays awake and figuratively attends) the whole event! I hope to wake up in time to contribute to the final moments of the last ever 24 hour show. In the mean time, I hope you do some extraordinary things, sing lots of songs, and generally make the world a shinier and more pleasant place (although that's not a stretch for you, I'm sure). Good luck, and I'm sending you all big hugs from Melbourne! By: vanessa@dirtywork.net.au Posted: 18 Aug 2009 12:42 UTC I have spent the last 9hrs trying to get mark watson an extension on his immigration visa to australia. He needs to let toby sullivan into his show NOW, so that I can get his signature and process his application. THIS IS URGENT PLUS!!! By: admin Posted: 18 Aug 2009 11:49 UTC Idiots of Ants are about to perform live, we don't have U2 yet but getting very close, and the entire world seems to be inexorably moving towards New Scottish Time. By: thermalsatsuma Posted: 18 Aug 2009 10:18 UTC Just cleaned out the drain by my back door. It had a dead mouse in it. Yuk. By: admin Posted: 18 Aug 2009 09:23 UTC The following scores were achieved in a hugging competition, with the prize being 3 beautiful "slankets". Winners in red.
Robert 23/30 Matt 23/30 Girl 23/30 Richard 23/30 Jasmine 26/30 Matt 24/30 Laura 26/30 Caroline 27/30 Lauren 22/30 Emma 25/30

The jasmine is blooming and spring is poking its little head around the corner making winter a little grumpy that it's going to be shown up very soon. My 24 hours has been pretty nice, pretty average day at work. I've got a little bit of a cold but am now happily at home and my husband is kindly making dinner. All in all a lovely 24 hours thanks :) By: badhairday Posted: 18 Aug 2009 07:02 UTC Well, my 24 hours so far have been: school-ing, buying embroidery threads, eating tomato and cheese sandwich, catching up on tweets, and now (and for the rest of the 24 hours) will be completing my Major Textiles Project which isn't due for another 5 days, however I need to get it framed. Tomorrow. And I still have hours and hours of work left. Hmmm, I probably shouldn't follow every tweet, but I can't seem to resist. By: blau Posted: 18 Aug 2009 06:57 UTC Got in from playing cards with my boss and two projectionists a little while ago. Now? Glorious sleep. Will check in demain (well, today, really) matin. By: admin Posted: 18 Aug 2009 06:49 UTC Mark has learned the salsa in an attempt to impress his lovely wife with "real world" skills. He is being ably taught here by Amy Butterworth.
By: thephantommilk Posted: 18 Aug 2009 06:24 UTC Things are much more exciting now that the Brits are waking up. I feel less like I'm the only person lame enough to not be there in person. Despite the fact that I have really valid excuses of being 19, American, and poor. In other news, the RPS fic I just submitted is making me extra guilty. But I figure if writing RPS gets you a special place in hell, then maybe the fact that it was commisioned by its subjects will lighten my sentence to a while in purgatory, at the very least. I could handle that. By: Kirst_in_SA Posted: 18 Aug 2009 06:24 UTC I am successfully avoiding doing any work at all by following this, and now by thinking up things for Mark to learn how to do By: MonaSmith Posted: 18 Aug 2009 05:47 UTC Stephen Fry just tweeted about it! "Can it be that it's 20 mins earlier than we thought it was? That GMT has to be recalculated in light of new evidence? So I'm hearing..." By: Kirst_in_SA Posted: 18 Aug 2009 05:09 UTC It's 07:30 in Jo'burg and time to join in the fun! By: MonaSmith Posted: 18 Aug 2009 04:02 UTC I'm joining a little late, but trying to catch up now By: admin Posted: 18 Aug 2009 01:42 UTC We have decided to change the world's reference time zone to New Scottish Time. This time is 20 minutes behind the current reference time, GMT. See the tasks page for more information. |
